Beach & Turtle Bay Marine Park
The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius is directly located on the pristine white beach of Turtle Bay, a natural marine park.
The beach is divided into various sections. The main beach area is located in front of the resort’s main bar, restaurant and water sports area adorned with sun lounges. We have a demarcated swimming section out at sea which ends at the hotel jetty. On the Rocks, beach area is the second beach section we have with sun loungers. As the name mentions, the beach itself is sandy however volcanic rocks adorn the frontage.
In addition, we have two raised beach areas, one at the beach cove with sun loungers which is quiet and secluded for relaxation and one at our adult only swimming pool, again with sun loungers which has impressive views of Turtle Bay and the Moka range of mountains.
Turtle Bay Marine Park is renowned for its exceptionally remarkable underwater ecosystem. Stretching over an area of 485 hectares. The Turtle Bay Marine Park is one of the few protected marine parks in Mauritius – the first national marine park since 1997. These warm waters are home to about 430 different marine creatures and almost 200 types of coral – expect to come across numerous schools of fish, turtles, colourful coral reefs and other marine life.
From the private boat house in front of The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius, we offer complimentary glass bottom boat rides, hobie cat sailing, sea kayaking, water skiing, wind surfing, pedalo boating and snorkelling trips to the Turtle Bay marine park, all supervised by a professional.

A unique blend of Eastern and Western techniques, where long, rhythmic strokes with warmed bronze kasa bowls are applied to the body. The combination of heat and pressure releases deeply held tensions; relaxing the body and mind. A blend of grassy and woody scents of vetiver, katrafay and omumbiri plant oil reminiscent of the African savannahs is used for our signature treatment.

Daily activities for the little ones
The Hub offers a heated swimming pool and a range of games and activities for children between 4 and 12 years, under supervision of Oberoi Kids’ Club team.
Our onsite facilities include an indoor table top football, table tennis, Wii, Playstation and board games. We also have an outdoor play area with a mini bowling alley, slides, a swing and a tree house.
Daily activities range from feeding the hotel’s koi fish to taking a glass bottom boat ride, snorkelling and banana boat riding. We also offer supervised visits to the aquarium at Point aux Piments, star gazing, and henna tattoos. There are cooking lessons once a week, and movie mornings, every day.

Royal Villa With Private Pool
The Royal Villa with Private Pool at The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius has played host to several celebrities from around the globe over the years. Some notable personalities include Mr. Kofi Anan, while he was Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Ruud Van Nistelrooy, the famous Dutch footballer and Mr. Narendra Modi, current Prime Minister of India, amongst others. We have also had the honour of hosting several international governmental dignitaries along with their entourage of delegates along the years of our hotel operations. Our top suite is also home to many repeat guests from UK and Europe who have made it their home away from home in this idyllic island of Mauritius and at The Oberoi.
The Royal Villa features a king-size master bedroom, a comfortable living room and an exquisite bathroom with private courtyard views. Spread across 650 square metres, the villa also includes a private garden, a swimming pool measuring 12 X 4 metres overlooking the Indian Ocean and a thatched dining pavilion. From its raised position within our resort, the Royal Villa affords magnificent views of the tranquil ocean and nearby mountains. Guests can relax on a comfortable window seat or outside by the private poolside and enjoy uninterrupted views of the sun setting on the bay.

Just Like The Ones We Used To Know”
The “Season to be Jolly” dawns upon us in one months’ time. At the Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius we pride ourselves in creating a special theme each festive season:
2014 – We did “Festive Mascarenes” – The theme and decor was to take our guests through the history of Mauritius and food from the various Mascarene islands.
2015 – We did “Festive N White” – The idea was to showcase a white Christmas in our colourful summer and maritime surroundings.
2016 – We did “Festive Marine” – A very apt theme and decor for our beach location with gourmet offerings to match.
2017 – We did “Festive Woodlands” – Embracing our surroundings, the theme centred around our ol’ Banyan Tree with the use of moss, wood and green to showcase the forest tropical feel.
2018 – We did “Festive Express” – We took our guests on an experiential journey whilst they enjoyed our festive platform on rails.
2019 – We did “Festive Tropicale” – The theme encompassed our location and tropical surroundings by incorporating flora and fauna and local food into an elegant fortnight of festivities.
2020 – We were closed with “Festive Covid” !!!
2021 – We did “Festive Double” – We celebrated two years in one – 2020 and 2021 in our resort bubble providing our guests a safe celebration above all.
This year, we bring you, “FESTIVE FANT’SEA”.
We celebrate our marine and serene location, as we live in a world where one dreams of peace and tranquillity, and the need for that to become a reality, as we chase this illusive fantasy.

A meal at The Gunpowder Room is a must during a stay at The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius. Savour and enjoy local Creole cuisine whilst our kitchen brigade recreates their grandmother’s recipes to give you a taste of Mauritian fare, sharing dishes family style.
The Gunpowder Room is a restored 18th century building forming part of Mauritian heritage. This unique venue features authentic local food in a communal setting. It is an adult only venue and operates for dinner upon reservation on Tuesday and Thursday nights only. We encourage you to reserve in advance this popular dining option for your guests.

WHY NOT STAY ON HONEYMOON FOR LIFE?
The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius is renowned for welcoming honeymoons and anniversary couples. Over 25% of our guests are either celebrating a honeymoon or a landmark anniversary on a daily basis at the resort. Our endeavour is to harness this market and keep it growing.
The peace and privacy at the resort makes it a great place for a honeymoon or anniversary couple.
We would like to paint a picture in your mind to illustrate what we do for our honeymooners.
- All honeymoon couples and wedding anniversary guests, see a bottle of complimentary chilled wine awaiting them with a card from the GM, when they reach their accommodation.
- A complimentary heart shaped bowl of rose petal macaroons awaits them as well on their coffee table with a little note saying “Why not stay on honeymoon for life”
- We have a palm leaf on which is written “Congratulations on your honeymoon” – placed beside a complimentary Oberoi T-shirt and Pareo designed especially by The Oberoi.
- The cushions on the double seater sofa are changed and we place cushions with “Mr.” and Mrs.” and “Happily Ever After” written on them.
- A night before they leave, we organise a complimentary special rose petal honeymoon turndown in their sunken bath. The picture attached is that of the free standing bath of the Royal Villa. It is similar in all our Pavilions and Villas with candles and rose petals.
- The same night, we present them by their bedside with “Honeymoon Slippers” – a pair for each saying “Just” & “Married” and “Honey” & “Moon”.
Our contract only states a “bottle of wine” if you book the honeymoon offer, but in fact, we have several small impactful touches that ensure our honeymoon guests carry back fond memories. All guest booked on any other offer, and on the honeymoon offer, also receive the above special touches.
Our anniversary couples would receive a similar treatment on arrival and during the stay. The slippers would say “Still” & Together” and “Soul” & “Mate”. If the wedding anniversary is during the stay or within a month prior or after, we then place our signature chocolate cake and congratulations card, either on arrival or a night before the departure with a flower box.
But most above all, we ensure all our guests, and in particular, honeymooners and anniversary couples, receive discreet service and enjoy the tranquillity and privacy that the resort provides.

Did you know that Mauritius has a micro-climate and the best weather is enjoyed on the north west coast of the island? The coast is sheltered from the south eastern winds which also carry rainfall. As a result, we purposefully built The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius in the sunniest, least windy and lowest rainfall spot on the idyllic island of Mauritius. As we also face west, we are privileged to enjoy daily sunsets from our 600 meter beachfront location.
Enjoy a cocktail at the Main Bar while watching the orange ball go down over the horizon or just relax on your sun lounger to take in the colors of dusk. Wherever you choose to be at the resort, the daily natural phenomenon of the sunset is a time to relax, unwind and enjoy nature’s fabulous colors.
